Historic RailPark & Train Museum

MARCH

1 – Early Reservations for Brunch with the Bunny – RailPark Members will have access to early reservations for  Brunch, story time, photos and egg hunt.  Event held April 15.

4 – sHOw Model Train Club – Meets at 10am in the Michael Buchanan Meeting Room at the L&N Depot.  Anyone interested in model trains is invited to attend.

4 & 7 – StoryTime– Meets at 10am in the Theater at the L&N Depot.  Enjoy a train themed book and craft activity.  The free event is open to the community.

7 –Reservations for Brunch with the Bunny – Ticket purchase opens for  brunch, story time, photos and egg hunt.  Event held April 15.

11 – All Aboard Series– Meets at 10am in the Theater at the L&N Depot.  Speakers David Strange & Charles Hartley will discuss the 1917 Shepherdsville, KY train wreck.  The event is free and we encourage anyone interested in the history trains is invited to attend.

17 – Gallery Hop at the RailPark– The L&N Depot and Museum will be open extended hours, 5pm-9pm and feature a rotating exhibit provided by the Sunny 16 Photo Club.This event is free and open to the public.

APRIL

1 & 4 – StoryTime– Meets at 10am in the Theater at the L&N Depot.  Enjoy a train themed book and craft activity.  The free event is open to the community.

1 – sHOw Model Train Club – Meets at 10am in the Michael Buchanan Meeting Room at the L&N Depot.  Anyone interested in model trains is invited to attend.

15 – Brunch with the Bunny – Brunch, story time, photos and egg hunt.  $14.95 adult tickets, $8.95 child ticket ages 12 and under.

22 & 23 – Sip & Putt – Tournament style putt putt golf played throughout the RailPark.  This fun and exciting fundraiser is adults only on Saturday night and is open to families on Sunday.  Advance ticket purchase is required.

MAY

2 – StoryTime– Meets at 10am in the Theater at the L&N Depot.  Enjoy a train themed book and craft activity.  The free event is open to the community.

5 -7  – Barnes & Noble BookFair– Shop the fundraising bookfair for the RailPark hosted at the Barnes & Noble Bowling Green.  A portion of the proceeds will go to fun RailPark events and programming.

6 – StoryTime– This special storytime will be held at the Bowling Green Barnes & Noble at 11am.  Enjoy a train themed book and craft activity.  The free event is open to the community.

6 – sHOw Model Train Club – Meets at 10am in the Michael Buchanan Meeting Room at the L&N Depot.  Anyone interested in model trains is invited to attend.

13 – JUNK’tion Market – Spring Sale – Upscale Crafters Shopping Event, Vendor space is available.

13 – National Train Day

14 – Mother’s Day– Free Admission for Mom with paid Child admission.

JUNE

2 – Gallery Hop at the RailPark– The L&N Depot and Museum will be open extended hours, 5pm-9pm and feature a rotating exhibit provided by the Sunny 16 Photo Club.This event is free and open to the public.

4 – Fairy Garden Tour– Bowling Green Garden Club tour stop

10 – All Aboard Series– Meets at 10am in the Theater at the L&N Depot.  2017 is Kentucky’s 225 anniversary of statehood. As part of a year-long celebration of Kentucky’s 225th birthday, the Kentucky Historical Society is traveling the state on a KY @ 225 Listening Tour. Join the Kentucky Historical Society, for an engaging discussion about what makes the Bluegrass State, when viewed through the lens of history, unique. KHS staff will facilitate a conversation that celebrates the commonwealth’s past while looking for ways to confront the challenges of the future.  The event is free and we encourage everyone is invited to attend.

18 – Father’s Day– Free Admission for Dads with paid Child admission

20 – Stand for Children– Come see us at the Bowling Green BallPark for a ride on the Lil’ Toot.

 JULY

21 – Solar Express at the RailPark– The L&N Depot and Museum will host a once in a lifetime viewing opportunity of the Solar Eclipse.  Activities, viewing and much more!  This event is open to the public and will require an advance ticket purchase.

SEPTEMBER

9 –10th Anniversary Celebration – Inaugural fundraising event for the RailPark to benefit the ongoing mission of the RailPark.

OCTOBER

2 – 92nd Anniversary– Open House 2-4pm to celebrate L&N Depot 92nd Anniversary.

19-28 – Haunted Lantern Train Tours– Back this October for the third year!  Our restored railcars will each host a character or storyteller that will share a tale with you. These historical tales come straight from the old days of train travel.  Evening tours are 6-9pm.

19 – Family Fun Night – 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Dress up in your favorite Halloween costumes and bring the whole family out for a spooky and fun tour.  Get your photo taken with the Ghostbusters!  Enjoy games and concessions provided by Potter Gray Jr Optimist Club.  Thanks to our sponsor, admission is half price.

21 – JUNK’tion Market– Fall Sale 9AM-4PM– Upscale Crafters Shopping Event, Vendor space is available.

NOVEMBER

TBA – Early Polar Express Registration Opens – Open to RailPark Members ONLY. Call or visit us 10am-4pm to get your tickets.

4 – sHOw Model Train Club – Meets at 10am in the Michael Buchanan Meeting Room at the L&N Depot.  Anyone interested in model trains is invited to attend.

TBA – Polar Express Registration Opens – Non-members may register for tickets 10am-2pm in-person only.  Tickets are limited and are available on a first come first served basis.

17-19 BookFair at Barnes & Noble –Shop at Barnes & Noble in Bowling Green.  A portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit programming and events at the RailPark.

27-30 – Polar Express – Nightly storytime held at the L&N Depot.  This is a free event but advance ticket registration is required.
